ChargePoint Holdings, Inc. came to market through Switchback Energy Acquisition Corporation, ticker SBE, a blank-check company sponsored by NGP Energy Capital Management that completed its initial public offering in 2019 on the New York Stock Exchange. The SPAC targeted the clean energy and electric vehicle infrastructure sector, ultimately combining with ChargePoint, the operator of one of the largest EV charging networks in North America. The business combination was consummated in February 2021, at which point SBE ceased trading and the combined company began operating as ChargePoint Holdings under the ticker CHPT.
