Spartan Acquisition Corp. III, which traded on the NYSE under the ticker SPAQ, was a blank-check company sponsored by Spartan Acquisition Management, an affiliate of Apollo Global Management, that completed a business combination with Allego N.V., a European public electric vehicle charging network operator headquartered in Arnhem, Netherlands. The SPAC went public in 2021 and announced its merger with Allego in July of that year, targeting the rapidly expanding EV charging infrastructure sector. Following the close of the transaction, Allego began trading on the NYSE under the ticker ALLG, giving the Dutch charging network operator access to U.S. public capital markets.
