Proterra Inc

ArcLight Clean Transition Corp (Nasdaq: ACTC), sponsored by energy-focused private equity firm ArcLight Capital Partners, completed its initial public offering in 2020 targeting the clean energy transition sector. In January 2021, ACTC announced a definitive merger agreement with Proterra Inc., a Burlingame, California-based manufacturer of battery-electric transit buses, charging infrastructure, and commercial vehicle battery systems. The transaction closed in June 2021, bringing Proterra to the public markets and marking ACTC as a completed deal. Proterra subsequently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August 2023.
