Global Eagle Entertainment Inc. (GEEI) is the product of a business combination between Global Eagle Acquisition Corp., a SPAC that completed its initial public offering in 2011, and in-flight entertainment and connectivity providers Row 44 and Advanced Inflight Alliance. The SPAC was sponsored by media executives Harry Sloan and Jeff Sagansky. The combined company, operating in the aviation media and satellite connectivity sector, filed this 8-K/A amendment with the SEC on March 18, 2013, shortly after the de-SPAC transaction closed. Global Eagle Entertainment subsequently traded on NASDAQ under the ticker GEEI before filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2020.
