FinTech Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: FNTC) was a blank-check company sponsored by Cohen & Company Financial, led by veteran banker Betsy Cohen, that completed its initial public offering in 2014 targeting the financial technology and payments sector. The SPAC closed its business combination with CardConnect Corp., a payment technology and merchant services provider, in July 2016, at which point the combined company began trading under the CardConnect name. CardConnect filed an 8-K with the SEC on July 6, 2017, in connection with First Data Corporation's acquisition of the company, which closed that month and concluded CardConnect's run as a publicly traded post-merger entity.
