Switchback II Corporation (NYSE: SWBK) is a blank-check company sponsored by Switchback Capital LLC, the vehicle affiliated with NGP Energy Capital Management that followed the firm's first SPAC, which took EV-charging network ChargePoint public. Switchback II completed its initial public offering in February 2021 and targeted the technology and clean-mobility sectors. In May 2021 the company filed an 8-K disclosing its proposed business combination with Bird Rides Inc., the electric micro-mobility and scooter-sharing platform. The merger subsequently closed in November 2021, with Bird Global Inc. beginning to trade as the combined public entity.
